Landscapes are shaped by a range of extremely different requirements and needs. Varying types of settlements and land use as well as diets have repeatedly and fundamentally changed the aesthetics of landscapes. How are these basic impacts working together in shaping out today’s environment? Who is playing a part in those continuous shaping processes? Regional living and local food sourcing would solve many man-made problems. Are these realistic options? What would our surrounding landscapes look like? Which deep-rooted understandings of the beauty and aesthetics of landscape do we carry? These questions and more will be addressed by four short presentations and a subsequent discussion.
