After training as a structural draughtsman and bricklayer, Walter Reinhard completed a specialised course in interior, building and product design at the Basel School of Design. This was followed by experience as a stage designer and several years as a freelance architect before he set up and managed a fashion label in the sustainability sector. Today he is Head of Management Support & Mediation for Urban Development & Architecture at the Department of Construction and Transport of the Canton of Basel-Stadt, focussing on the further development of building culture, in particular the management of the Forum Städtebau ‘Basel 2050’.
