Michael Hübscher sees light as an important, topical field and initiates events within the framework of LICHT RAUM and together with the Lighting Detectives. The Lighting Detectives are a non-profit organization dedicated to the study of lighting culture. He also teaches lighting at the FHNW School of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geomatics in Muttenz.
Michael founded the company hübschergestaltet GmbH, independent lighting designers, after completing his studies in 2003. He and his team are currently working on the following lighting projects, for example: New BVB Garage Rankhof, Extension Rudolf Steiner School Basel, New LUKS Hospital Wolhusen, Vocational Training Center Muttenz, House of Values Odd Fellows Basel, ALL Allschwil, School Höckler Zurich-Wollishofen, Foyer Schadausaal Thun and Retirement Center Köniz. hübschergestaltet was awarded this year’s German Lighting Design Prize in the “Hotel and Gastronomy” category for the Swiss Youth Hostels’ Aua Grava wellness hostel project in Laax.
