The two collectives Stadtschwarm and büro spatzig, which focus on urban spaces, consist of five people and highlight urban weaknesses from a feminist-intersectional perspective. This forms the basis for their engagement with public (interstitial) spaces, their uses and conflicts, deficiencies, and design possibilities. Drawing on their backgrounds in scenography and urban studies, they apply experimental and creative methods rooted in spatial practice and theory. The aim of the two collectives is to create opportunities, take initiatives, raise awareness, and promote solidarity. They advocate for a vibrant, diversity-conscious, inclusive, feminist, and future-oriented city. Their approach reflects the city itself – sometimes loud, sometimes quiet; sometimes large, sometimes small; sometimes gentle, sometimes irritating; sometimes provocative, sometimes subversive.
